Personnel Audit Services
(Annual Performance Evaluation Review (APER) and Competency Assessment and Suitability Test Option)
Conducting a proper teaching skill and competency audit for staff is rewarding. It is important however, that schools conduct these at least yearly. The audit will provide up-to-date information on personnel and typically include data on the following:
Employee numbers categorized by type of employment: full-time employees, part-time employees, short-term casual, temporary workers etc
Employee numbers categorized by operational or social criteria: such as location, job title, function, salary grade, level of education, age, gender, years of service etc.
Employee skills: Assessing the skills level is very important in terms of maintaining service levels and quality. These include assessment of individual employee functional or technical skills; identification of key individuals or groups of workers whose knowledge, experience and institutional memory are critical to the effective operation of the school; and the identification, through some form of gap analysis, of the difference between today's skills and competencies and those required for the future success of the school.
Employee Compensation for each employee or category of employee including basic monthly salary, cash and other allowances, in kind benefits and pension contributions by the employer.
Liabilities of the school to the employee
The audit when it revolves around the teaching staff of the school attempts to ascertain the following:
ü Teaching competency of staff which will be evaluated using the Competency Scale designed by professional assessors.
ü Suitability for the 21st century academic environment
ü Training and developmental needs.
